If you are thinking of buying or building a new home in Alexandria or elsewhere in Northern Virginia, you owe it to yourself and your family to look into building a modular home.
Why build a modular home?
Modular homes are fast becoming the new standard for the housing industry. Just about any size and style of home you see can be built as a modular home. It will look identical both inside and out when compared with a site-built home. The only differences are that the modular home is likely to be stronger, more energy efficient, of higher quality, and less costly to build. Also, the time to build a modular home from start to finish will only be a few months, instead of the usual six to 18 months for a regular site-built home.
Carbide Construction will work with you to design the exact home of your dreams. You can choose from many existing designs, modify those designs, or develop a completely new design for your custom home to precisely match your desires and needs.
Your modular home will be about 85 percent completed in environmentally controlled factory conditions, by highly trained, skilled personnel, to strict quality control standards. All of the materials are kept indoors, protected from the detrimental effects of the weather and damaging rays from the sun, both while in inventory and during assembly. The use of specially built jigs for manufacturing ensures that the modules will fit together with precision when joined at your home site. When it’s completed, your home will meet or exceed all of the same federal, state, and local codes that a traditional site-built home must meet.
The construction of your modular home is not affected by delays for inclement weather, shipping of materials to the job site, or scheduling of labor crews at several job sites. It only takes a few weeks for your home to be completed at the factory.
The remaining 15 percent of building your home involves many of the same issues that affect a site-built home. In addition to the setting and joining of the individual modules, there is site preparation; digging for and building the foundation slab or basement; final connection of the electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning services, and landscaping.
